David Cross Making America Great Again Netflix

David Cross: Making America Great Again (2016) Poster

Aforementioned old stuff just recycled

David Cantankerous behaves similar a grown up that still blames his parents for all the problems he faces in everyday life. His stand upward is basically always the same thing, he just recycles information technology. He gives information technology some new jokes but it's always the same routine. Church, right wing politicians, church building, church, church... If yous don't want to be disappointed, just scout i of his stand ups and then nothing else, ever. This way you will actually enjoy it. He is a smart and funny guy but can't break out of a circle he drawn himself. I wish he would stick to just staring in shows. He is amazing when someone else writes his material. I hope he volition entertain us for a long time, just non with stand ups.

Poopy deuce

Warning: Spoilers

Crappy feces. Shitty droppings. That'south my personal feelings regarding this one-act special. I can't respect a comedian the same way I can't respect a media outlet when they greatly alter the spectrum of the reality they evidence or tell to further their personal or political view. I laughed at a couple jokes right off the bat, and I am easily entertained. Vivid to dark humor anything goes. Make fun of people you lot don't agree with. But don't lie like an unproblematic schooler about how hateful your pal Billy was to your teacher only to become them to punish Billy.

David Cross went off on a rant near Trump but used really bad and unfactual arguments. I'm not american and then I could care less about the political mural over there, but I can't watch this, I literally felt the fun draining from my body and from his show as the rant went longer and more than loosely and falsely based.

Most sarcastic bear witness I've e'er seen.

I only knew David Cross from Arrested Development (which I loved by the way), I had no clue he did as well stand-upwardly one-act. So this was his outset show for me and fifty-fifty though I thought it was a flake irksome in the beginning I speedily changed my mind when I realized what a genious he is. I dear sarcasm, it's my favorite kind of humor, merely I never witnessed a more sarcastic show equally Making America Swell Once more. Absolutely everything he says is sarcasm, the kind that makes you think about essential things, truths that don't like to be divulged. After reading xiii reviews on here (12 bad ones and ane good i) I'm not surprised at all that so many people hated information technology. You have to have some intelligence to understand his sarcasm and sadly the globe is full of dumb and ignorant people, which shows in the negative reviews. Only everybody is entitled to it's opinion, that'south how it works. Anyway, if you similar sarcasm and if you have a higher IQ than the average caveman there'southward a high adventure you will bask this bear witness.

Cross non losing his border; it'southward just rusty now

This is an odd thing to see. I don't mean Netflix producing a special for David Cross, just more so him doing stand-up. It seemed similar his celebrity days were behind him and this sort of proves it. His topical comments on politics take longer to make people express joy compared to his last three comedy specials. You could tell the audience respected him equally a one-act giant only the content was just underwhelming. His energy level is really low and keeping the audition engaged for an hour is but stretching jokes out. Honestly, I did enjoy watching it; but when I went to go listen back to his previous piece of work, I was reminded on how skilful his edgy comedy was.

The tempo in his previous shows was at a steady rate. This time it doesn't alive upward to his career. In that location is always typically a time where an artist is at their pinnacle. And information technology seems this is the point where he's climbing downward. He'southward gotten quite rusty this fourth dimension around. The only moment I actually laughed hysterically was one joke at the end. And what Cross does best is become people to express joy with his tone, cadence, mannerisms, and hyperbolic the minimalist bait and switch jokes. Only you can't ride on that with just sub-par fabric. I liked some of the content, but at some point information technology was like he was riding a wave for too long without changing course appropriately. Normally David Cross' $.25 are very quick and the longer ones are multi-faceted or connect to another point to move the entire testify forth. The theme is extremely muddled and sloppy when compared to his previous work.

If you similar David Cantankerous but if y'all never seen/heard his stand-up before--I'd recommend that much more than.

How could this shameless guy still attempt to cash in?

Jesus, even I don't believe in those God crap, I have to utilize this 'Jesus' word to show y'all how pathetic this guy and how bad his evidence is. This is perhaps the most boring crap that ever a guy who calls himself as a stand up-up comedian and tries to fool people to go to his show, listen to his meaningless whining voice and waste precious time and money for his hollow blah, blah and blah. I watched this slow show and watched the audience trying so difficult to make their money worth, their laughter were simply and then awkward, contrite, unnatural, hesitant, and so pretentious. They were trying so hard to pick some lousy moments to show some laughter for something this guy said, merely those laughter merely felt and so dutifully clichéd. The topics this guy chose to deliver on the stage were only pointlessly hollow and uninteresting. I just saw a loser, nearly like the typical white trash, kept whining away pointless, overly used sometime crap. This guy is an insult to those really proficient comedians who could use cynical jokes to evangelize the truth of life. This guy? NOTHING! I only pity this guys' audiences, sitting in the theater, trying so difficult to give some polite and lukewarm laughter. I just felt so embarrassed for these people, paying coin to listen his crap.

Garbage

What a waste of resources that this was attended, recorded and published. If sifting with your bare hands through putrid, dripping, ten-day-sometime kitchen waste or metropolis sewage is your idea of entertainment, so watch this.

Boring beyond words

I'll admit, I couldn't watch the entire show. There was absolutely nothing clever about his presentation. He used profanity similar a kid...,thinking that would make the audience express mirth. I don't know if he was supposed to look similar a hick or a homeless guy only information technology made no sense. I suppose depression level thinkers would find him amusing merely I thought he was goose egg more than a Clinton shill regurgitating falsehoods in order to promote his political agenda via the media. Maybe he should discount his ticket prices so the 'hungry and the poor' could enjoy a evidence and make America great! I'g quite surprised this guy has made a living as a comedian. His stories went on and so long, I couldn't hear the end through the yawns. If you are gullible and follow liberal nonsense, you may think he's worthwhile. As a moderate gratuitous thinking person, I thought he was offensive, big-headed and boring.

Seriously people .... mayhap yous just don't get it

When someone suggests that Larry the cable guy is funnier, I have to wonder. From my experience comics evolve, but slowly. They use the same themes but explore unlike aspects. David Cross is very talented and very funny. Practice I like every joke ? No, merely I don't like all of the music from my favorite musician either. If yous don't like someone's art, then don't buy it. Every bit he says in the show - if yous don't like his material and then maybe you lot didn't practise your homework nearly who he is and the kind of material he does.

Worst stand up up "comedy" I take e'er seen.

Alert: Spoilers

about ane/3rd of the mode into the special it instantly transforms into a babbling rant nigh how much he hates conservatives and Donald Trump and claims what he says is really true... you can look them upward and almost every single thing is a lie. there are nix jokes in the insane rant and its all only an endeavour as shock humor. I had extreme difficulty finishing this "comedy" special

not funny

I enjoyed his shows before, just was neither funny nor insightful in this special. A huge swing and a miss. With the exception of the gun riff, he relied on old material focused mainly on his smelly body parts. Mayhap that is why none of the big premier pay channels picked upward this special. Netflix will have to practise better in the future choosing streaming material.

netflix delight

This review is going to be curt and sweet because, to be completely honest, I don't take much experience in judging comedy specials. Usually, standup comedy isn't really "my thing", just if something catches my eye I'll sentry from time to time.

A few years dorsum, I watched what I retrieve was first comedy routine to be put to film, and I remember thinking it was hilarious. he isn't for everyone, but I'thousand non besides prudish when it comes to humour, and so I enjoyed information technology.

Equally such, I saw this Special and decided to give information technology a attempt. What I found, unfortunately, is that it didn't make me chuckle more than than a couple of times in an hour.

I also actually didn't like the fact that some bits were reused from stories he's previously told in interviews! Watching the special, I could point out at least 3 stories that I had already heard earlier on various talk shows like Late Dark .he should be performing original content.

Practiced thing it was free"

Bring your all-time brain for his comedy

Alert: Spoilers

He's a profesional and isn't out to make certain you stay in your comfort chimera of bland thought. Think of the kickoff time you saw him-probably a cameo in MIB the get-go. And all those years writing and doing improv with Bob Odenkirk. He's deft at treatment his audience and hecklers. He's forever the thinking person's smartass. The McConnaghea impression is priceless. And so is the dramatic reading of the Restoration Hardware itemize.

Just didn't entertain.

Quite honestly, I didn't experience entertained.

I similar David Cross but this just didn't practice annihilation for me. A bunch of political and nazi jokes with no real punchline merely isn't a good time for me and as smashing as his beard looks in this, doesn't make upwards for the lack of humour.

Sorry David, just wasn't for me!

It'due south still expert ol' David "Chim chim chureeee!" Cross, folks!

While many of the things said by reviewer Caio are correct, i.east. Cantankerous kind of drags and engagement is not ever there, I disagree strongly with the idea Cantankerous has a "rusty edge". Nonetheless at that place are, over again as mentioned by Caio, the bunko jokes that actually lead to gut laughs, the Cross-ish mannerisms, and above all, the wit. Aye, there are times in this where he becomes more preachy than in previous works; this is probably where about people will lose him and go do other things. Being of (by and large) the same worldview every bit Cross and having cut my teeth watching Mr. Show late night in the mid 90s when I had school the next morning time, I hung around and was glad I did. Cantankerous really is talented in elocution, and very whimsical in leading you lot in to a twisted joke in this special. If you tin stay to the end, he ever makes the punchline worth it. I was also impressed by one of his analogies and for pointing out some things I didn't call back of (even in beingness highly political, myself). Speaking of which, one downside of his political rant was the exclusion of the Democratic party and establishment for their collusion in many of the things I felt he correctly pegged the "other side" of doing. I'll terminate in that location equally to non make this most my political behavior, but will say that I hope he comes around on that. Anyhow, if this is what David Cross is like afterwards an ostensible hiatus from stand-up, I must say I accept high hopes for his time to come specials!

@ffjtsos

I have seen numerous comedians utilize material from a new special in a late night interview. The whole reason for the late night appearance is to promote a new show, etc.

Ignorant Comedy

The differences between David Cross and Ricky Gervais is that Gervais is honest, smart and funny. If yous similar the typical bashing of Trump and Republicans by SNL and Stephen Colbert, y'all'll probably find this mildly amusing. If you are educated and offended past bigotry and ignorance, then move along...zero original to see here. David Cross alienates half of his audition by targeting them in political 'jokes' then finishes off the residual by being genuinely not funny. He thinks he'south an intellectual, but you'll honestly get more than thought-provoking, hillbilly sense of humour out of 'Larry the Cablevision Guy'. I couldn't tell yous if his closers were any good because I fell comatose earlier them.
